ABUJA—A multi-million water project complete with treatment plant and two higher capacity pumps with the capability to provide enough water for the use of the 99 Air Weapons School of the Nigerian Air Force at Kainji and the over 170, 000 inhabitants of the new Bussa community was weekend commissioned by the Nigeria Airforce.
Speaking at the occasion, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oluseyi Petirin said the water project was the biggest in the history of the 99 Air weapons school since it was established in 1984 recalling that it was very tough grappling with the challenges of water supply many years ago when he served as Commander there, hence his decision to build the water project.
“It was in this light that I approved the contract for two higher capacity pumps to replace those at the Kainji Dam serving the Niger State Water Board. We also had additional 8kms of pipes from the Dam to the base with adequate reticulation, reservoirs and a water treatment plantâ€.
