A two-man robbery gang that operates on a motorcycle, has met its waterloo, after one of its suspected members was shot dead yesterday, during a gun battle with a team of policemen attached to Trade fair division.
The robbers, according to report, trailed a customer who had gone to withdraw the sum of N200,000 from a bank in Abule-Ado, along the Badagry expressway.
They were said to have been on the verge of collecting the money from the victim when a team of policemen on patrol swoop on them.
A gun battle was said to have ensued, in the process of which one of the suspected bandits was shot, while the other escaped.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Frank Mba, said the arrested suspect with bullet wounds died moment after the encounter.
