General Manager of 3SC, Mutui Adepoju has corrected the notion that the former coach Franklin Howard was sacked and replaced by coach Philip Boamah, despite leading the team back to the elite division.
According to the former Super Eagles star, Howard’s contract with the team expired and the Oluyole Warriors did not see any reason to renew his contract. “Howard was not sacked. His contract ran out and we wanted a more experienced coach to lead the team in the elite division. It was a management decisionâ€, he said.
Stressing the aim of management is to contract a coach who they believe would tinker the Oluyole Warrior in the 2009/2010 Globacom Premier League season scheduled to kickoff-soon.“No doubt, coach Franklin  led the team back to the elite division, but that is not enough for the management. Why they did not renew his contract is best known to themâ€, Adepoju said.
Shooting Stars during the unveiled former Julius Berger sweat merchant Boamah who was contracted to tinker the club for the forthcoming Premier League.
Boama, a member of the highly formidable IICC Shooting Stars team the late 70s’ also coached the club at a later stage, winning several laurels while staring for the Oluyole Warriors.
The choice of Boamah according to the Manager of the club Adepoju was informed by his pedigree, both as player of the team and a tested coach.
