During the tenure of Tafa Balogun as Inspector General of the Nigeria Police, there was the famous anti-crime strategy known as “Operation fire for fire” which was designed to check the upsurge of criminal activities at the time. Tafa was passionate about it and his administration made much effort to impress its efficacy on the people.

Nevertheless, Luke says: “(Paul) reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath.” (Acts 18:4). Paul’s “reasoning” is often incoherent and contradictory. To accept some of the things he says, one has to take leave of one’s senses.

For a nation so heavily dependent on export of crude oil, our greatest fear should have been a global recession substantially reducing the price of crude because that would take us back to 1983-86 when the price of crude went below $15 per barrel. Today, we will be in dire straits if it fell below $90. The revolution so glibly invited by some leaders of thought will occur sooner than they think.

When these children get married my husband and I are the ones to represent their parents. I didn’t adopt them legally. It’s like we are fostering them and that is what we are encouraging Nigerians to do. There could be someone out there who has a dream to look after orphans but may not have the resources to establish a big orphanage, he or she could consider fostering two or more children.
