In simple terms, religious intolerance or fanaticism is the inability of an adherent of a particular religion to acknowledge, accommodate and accept the right of others to live by another faith different from his own.

Ms. Mma Odi is the Executive Director for Baobab for Women’s Human Rights, a non-governmental organisation in the vanguard of promoting the rights of women in Nigeria and Africa. Baobab is the Secretariat for the Nigerian NGO-CEDAW Coalition, a coalition established in 1997 to give a voice to the issues of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women(CEDAW) in Nigeria.
