Today’s piece is sequel to Toyin Dawodu’s earlier article “Stable Electricity Still a Decade Away from Nigeria”. Toyin, a Nigerian in the Diaspora, is Managing Partner of Capital Investment Group in California, and also CEO of an outfit currently testing alternative and clean energy generation.

Let me quickly say this morning that I will pre-tend nothing happened in Calabar. In far away Ghana, I could not watch the match live, so I had to depend on second hand information.

You voted for Jonathan, not PDP. That’s fine. Now you’ve got Jonathan; the worst PDP imaginable and Alamieyseigha as extra dividend. So, why are millions of My Fellow Countrymen complaining? From late 2010, until the last Sunday to the 2011 Presidential election that year, we drummed the message to ears that were blocked and brains that were turned off. The message was as clear as can be. DON’T VOTE FOR JONATHAN; YOU WILL REGRET IT.

If young people are economically empowered and reoriented to think productively, then Nigeria can be sure to overcome corruption and wastefulness. Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, PhD, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Commander of the Armed Forces, must know something that the rest of us do not know. He wants another term in office, a desire which certain sections of the nation vehemently oppose. We all know that.
