I was a baby Christian, basking in newborn fellowship with the Lord. I woke up one morning to discover I was singing a new song. I had never sung it before; but it was clear I had been singing it in my sleep and continued now awake. How do you sing a song you never knew before? How come you know the words?

We are all Boko Haram

Boko Haram’s latest onslaughts in Potiskum and Mubi this past week draw our attention once again to the growing strength and defiance of its terrorist operations. If anything has defined the Jonathan presidency, it has been the Boko Haram insurgency, the single most dangerous political development in Nigeria since the civil war. In a sense, Jonathan is struggling with history, and the nature of his presidential legacy.

The question concerning miracles (2)

In otherwords, when people claim they have received a miracle in one form or another, a sufficient number of critical and well-educated people of trustworthy character and good sense to occlude the possibility of deliberate deception invariably dispute such claims – and for good reasons too, because appearances do not always reflect reality. Human beings, especially in underdeveloped communities where majority of the population are poor and undereducated cling dogmatically to the teachings of Holy Scriptures concerning miracles, even when the phenomena in question are amenable to scientific explanation.
