LAST week in continuation of my discussion as to how Nigeria can get out of the current economic recession by reviving the agricultural sector, I advocated that government encourages mechanised agriculture.

I STUMBLEDon an article on public outrage and fury when a disabled BBC reporter tweeted he was left on a plane after “wheel chair assistance”, the crew tasked with helping passengers with mobility issues to leave the aircraft, failed to show up to assist him, despite obviously knowing he was on board.

IT’S indeed a pertinent thing to ask when a leader should respond to a crisis situation. Perhaps, a more pertinent question is why a leader should respond at all. The simple answer is that by responding a leader shows he/she care for and understands his/her duty by their people.

NIGERIAN leaders are not known for telling the truth but sometimes the truth spills out of their mouths and they find it difficult to take it back. And since they are not gifted to give quotable quotes, such slips become their immortal words.
