The Punch Newspaper recently carried a report titled “CBN Defended Naira with $26.6bn in 2013.” The report, apparently obtained from the Central Bank’s website, indicated that this amount was sold to currency dealers in 94 foreign exchange Dutch Auctions between January and December 2013.

For a country that is on the ascendancy in football, one that is getting used to winning, Saturday was a disaster, to say the least.

Apart from direct dangers to the mental and physical well-being of individuals, the two dominant religions in Nigeria tend to engender hatred, division and enmity in families, villages, towns, states and the country as a whole.

Jesus chose twelve disciples and all of them were men. What does this tell us about his attitude towards women? Does it mean he discriminates against them? Let me answer the question with a question. God chose only one nation; Israel. Does this mean he discriminates against other nations? Certainly not!

I stake my claim to advise my President on two things. First, I am a citizen of Nigeria, one of the 170 million souls you now lead. I don’t want to be led astray or into another nationwide conflict. Second, I belong to that group of Nigerians, called Area Boys, who live strictly on our own brand of street wisdom. In any situation, we always know when we are beaten before the fight starts and we tactically withdraw. You see, my President, there is nothing more wasteful of lives and opportunities than fighting for lost causes. You are about to get engaged in one unnecessary battle.
