‘Change’ must start from Buhari!

THIS President Muhammadu Buhari regime will never stop amazing us in its capacity to disappoint or fall hand, as we say in our Pidgin English. Can you imagine? Fifteen months after it swept into power on the crest of a litany of promises garbed in the mantra of “change”, he has turned around to tell us that “change” begins with us!

We are in September, somehow, I am excited. September seems to be a special month. It is the ninth month of the year. Expectant mothers always look up to the ninth month for delivery. Perhaps this is why it is called the month of fruitfulness. It is the month of expectation. It is the month that one begins to appreciate that the year is running out . Hence, the determination to work harder at attaining set goals.

When on June 23 majority of British voters decided it was time to dump the European Union, they never expected it would take this long before the process that will ease them out will start. The joy of the announcement of the result in the early morning of June 24 had turned into nightmare for them now. While some have openly regretted the decision to vote to “leg” it from the EU, majority have no idea what is going to happen next because of the foot dragging of their leaders.

Why are some Christians so upset when we question Paul’s epistles? Why do they become abusive when we demonstrate painstakingly that Paul’s doctrine is at variance with Jesus’? The reason is simple; many Christians are Christians not because of Jesus but because of Paul. Without Paul, Christianity would no longer hold any attraction for them.

INEC almost surprised me

When the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that governorship elections would hold in Edo and Ondo States on September 10 and November 28, 2016 respectively, i had cause to suspect that the dates would not be kept and that if the elections managed to hold as scheduled, they would not be free or fair.
