
UEFA on Thursday named Victor Osimhen in its Champions League Team of the Week following the conclusion of Wednesday’s Round of 16 playoff second-leg fixtures.
Osimhen delivered a standout performance for Galatasaray, playing a decisive role in helping the Turkish side secure progression to the Champions League Round of 16.
The Nigerian striker was selected alongside Alexander Sørloth of Atlético Madrid, who scored a hat-trick against Club Brugge in a commanding display.
Also included in the elite lineup were Aurélien Tchouaméni of Real Madrid and Davide Zappacosta of Atalanta, both of whom impressed in their respective ties.
The full Champions League Team of the Week following Wednesday’s matches is as follows:
Goalkeeper: Jan Oblak (Atlético Madrid).
Defenders: Davide Zappacosta (Atalanta), Odin Bjørtuft (Bodø/Glimt), Edmond Tapsoba (Bayer Leverkusen), and Weston McKennie (Juventus).
Midfielders: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Paris Saint-Germain), Aurélien Tchouaméni (Real Madrid), Sandro Tonali (Newcastle United), and Jens Petter Hauge (Bodø/Glimt).
Forwards: Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray) and Alexander Sørloth (Atlético Madrid).
