Stakeholders in Nigeria will come together on August 11, 2009 in Lagos for a one-day public forum to deliberate on the health concerns arising from mobile phones and base stations.

The Ministry of Science & echnology has announced that this year’s National ICT Congress will be held at the Centro Internacional de Conferencia Joaquim Chissano over 17-18 September, with the theme “Optimising network management & developing content for the fibre era”.

A preliminary research conducted by World Wide Worx for its 2009 annual Mobility study, with the support of First National Bank (FNB), leaders in cellphone banking in Africa, and Research In Motion (RIM), developers of the BlackBerry solution, has discovered that the South African cellular market which reached a milestone of 50-million connections at the end of 2008 had only 68% as individual users.
