NITTA 2009 gets date as stakeholders seek to consolidate on gains

Nigeria’s prestigious and foremost awards for the Information and Communications Technology industry, the Nigerian Information Technology and Telecom Awards (NITTA) ceremony has been scheduled to hold on November 20, 2009 at the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

But even before the date was officially released and announced by the organisers, industry operators, professionals and indeed, numerous stakeholders have been clamouring for the NITTA, which has become, over the last seven years, the de facto benchmark for measuring performance, rewarding excellence and upholding quality as well as fuelling growth in the ICT sector in Nigeria

Organised by Africa’s foremost ICT magazine, IT & Telecom Digest, this year’s event will be the ultimate consummation and consolidation of the gains recorded in the telecom and IT sector in the last eight years.
Announcing date for NITTA 2009, the eighth in the series of this annual event, the Editor-in-Chief of IT & Telecom Digest, Mr. Mkpe Abang, said this year’s event will “recognise the companies and individuals responsible for the innovations, achievements and great new services that have helped to shape our ICT industry up until now, and are helping to build tomorrow’s industry.”

According to Abang, the Awards are open to all communications providers, mobile operator, ISPs, VSAT companies, telecom carriers, CDMA operators, experts, governments, allied professionals, and indeed institutions and content providers, among others.
