Chief Mbazulike Amaechi is a foremost nationalist . He belongs to the class of the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe who fought for Nigeria’s independence. There was palpable tension in the bustling city of Kano yesterday, as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced Governor Umar Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress, APC,  winner of the governorship election which was concluded on Saturday. He polled 1,033,695 votes to beat his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP opponent, Alhaji Abba Kabir-Yusuf, who got 1,024,713 votes.

The Benue chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has rejected the outcome of the Governorship election declared on Sunday, in favour of Gov Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The ruling All Progressive Congress APC has emerged winner of the governorship election in Kano with a margin of 8,982 votes ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

After a tough political fight with his former deputy, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was on Sunday re-elected for a second term in office with the slimmest margin of 342 votes over that of his challenger, Ahmed Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress.
