ABUJA-The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said its legal department is studying the ruling of an Appeal Court sitting in Sokoto which on Monday, nullified the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship and National Assembly primaries in Zamfara state.
Justice Tom Yakubu nullified the primaries on the premise that they were done in violation of the nation’s electoral laws.
Speaking on the development yesterday, PDP spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan said the party would issue a formal statement after studying the ruling of the appellate court.
He said: “Our legal team is currently studying the ruling and I can assure you that we will issue a statement on this tomorrow (today).”
The APC was only allowed to field candidates for the elective offices in the 2019 elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission after securing a court judgement in its favour.
