THE above could be the cry of Armageddon, reminiscent of Jesus’ anguished poser to Saul on his way to Damascus, from our much abused country, Nigeria, to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB.

“It is one thing to create the façade of a country and give it a name as happened in the case of Nigeria, Gold Coast, Dahomey and the like. However, the concept of nationhood cannot be created by the fiat of men however powerful. In short you do not create or make a nation by only words of mouth”.

ANY honest observer, who has seen how Nigeria has steadily and systematically moved from being a country of great promise to a country of great problems; anyone who knows that you have to look back to the past, instead of look forward, to see this country’s best years of national and regional progress, its years of great public and missionary schools and great education, of proud infrastructural achievements and the best life experiences – any such honest observer? can easily list more than a hundred reasons why Nigeria needs restructuring to stop the drift towards the development abyss.

WE live in difficult times. The word ‘crisis’ is a much overused term. And yet, if truth be told, we have a crisis in our hands. There are a few misguided idiots out there who are determined to bring down our country in an inferno of fire and destruction.
