The Goldmine of political office

The volume of funds made available or is being budgeted for allowances and entertainment of public office holders is scandalous and unpatriotic. Those who thought about it did not think critically. Those who are bent on having more of it are not thinking at all. But those who sit back and endorse the rape are the sick ones who need the greatest help.

MR. President: It’s what you do

We are already in the critical stage of the election year when people make up their minds to contest or not. It usually is a period of great distraction for those who want to perform, and of course a time for absenteeism by unscrupulous political office holders.

OBJ: Why stroke the flame?

Things are moving rather faster than most of us would have expected. In the country there are social, political and economic activities all moving in different directions at comparative speed, not so easy to fathom.

The issue is no longer Iwu. He is gone for good. Our controvertial professor chairman of INEC has lost his spirited battle to stay on his lucrative job. Now, that man is part of our blighted history.

A sure-footed first step

I have said in this column before that Acting President Goodluck Jonathan will be assessed strictly by what he does. So, I am not disappointed that he recognises it and is moving in step with public expectations.
