Award-winning Nigerian actress, producer, and creative executive Lillian Amah-Aluko has announced the official launch of her latest novel, “The Things We Do To Each Other” set for release on June 10, 2026.
The book is a gripping exploration of love, marriage, betrayal, emotional wounds, and redemption. It examines the fragile complexities of human relationships and the quiet tensions that often hide beneath seemingly perfect lives.
The story follows Chetachi “Chet” Dozie, a successful oil industry executive celebrated for his career and loyal circle of friends. Despite his achievements, pressure to settle down weighs heavily on him. That changes when he meets Susan, a vibrant, free-spirited woman who pulls him into an intense whirlwind romance. Convinced he has found love and companionship, Chet proposes within six months. But marriage soon reveals a more complicated reality, forcing both to confront painful truths about love, insecurity, trust, and healing.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the book, Amah-Aluko said: “The Things We Do To Each Other” is a deeply emotional exploration of love, insecurity, and the quiet ways relationships break and heal. I wanted to tell a story that feels honest, vulnerable, and reflective of the emotional complexities many people experience behind closed doors.”
