The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has tasked newly inaugurated executives of the Okpe, Sapele, and Uvwie (OSU) Federal Constituency Political Forum, Uvwie Chapter, to immediately commence aggressive grassroots mobilisation in support of Bola Tinubu and Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at Alegbo Primary School in Uvwie Local Government Area, Dafinone expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would secure victory in the forthcoming polls, citing ongoing economic reforms by the Tinubu administration as evidence of purposeful leadership.
According to him, President Tinubu inherited a fragile economy but has taken decisive steps to reverse the decline. He highlighted the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the exchange rate as critical reforms that have curtailed systemic exploitation and repositioned the nation’s economy. He described the President as the “most prepared and qualified” leader Nigeria has elected.
“Let me take a moment to speak about our President Bola Tinunu’s government. When he assumed office, our country was in a difficult state. He took bold decisions that previous administrations avoided. He administered what I call the “bitter medicine” necessary for recovery. The exchange rate system, which had enriched a few at the expense of many, was dismantled. The same decisive action was taken on fuel subsidy and other sectors that had become avenues for exploitation. What the President has done is to halt the steady decline of our nation. Rather than take the easy path and allow the situation to worsen, he chose courage and reform. Nigeria remains the most advanced Black nation in Africa, blessed with resilient and accomplished citizens who continue to excel globally.
“Yes, Nigerians have endured a challenging period, but by the grace of God, that phase is nearing its end. What lies ahead is an economic rebound. Indeed, this recovery might have come earlier but for global disruptions, including tensions in Iran that have impacted oil prices and, by extension, food costs. However, I assure you that the rebound is still on course. Our President is, in my view, the most prepared leader Nigeria has ever had—an accountant, an economist, a former governor, and a seasoned politician. He came into office ready for the task, hit the ground running, and has remained focused. I have every confidence that he will lead Nigeria to greater heights by the grace of God.
On the state front, Dafinone commended Governor Oborevwori’s performance, noting that his administration has delivered tangible development across Delta State. He maintained that the governor’s achievements justify a second term and urged party faithful to remain united in sustaining the “M.O.R.E Agenda” at the grassroots.
“I ask, what more evidence do we need? For those who once doubted our amiable Governor, the results are now visible for all to see. His performance speaks for itself and will continue to do so. I recently granted an interview where I noted that many leaders wait until the end of their tenure to think about legacy. But in Delta State, this administration has already defined its legacy early, with tangible achievements on the ground. That is the kind of leadership we desire—a government that works for its people and delivers real results.
The lawmaker also lauded the National Coordinator of the OSU Forum, Solomon Ighrakpata, for promoting unity and fostering political inclusion within the constituency. “Let me sincerely commend you all; you have truly outdone yourselves. The turnout here today is remarkable, and it clearly demonstrates a unity of purpose as we prepare for the election season that is fast approaching. We are gathered here as committed supporters of Mr. President and our performing Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.”
During the event, Ighrakpata formally inaugurated the Uvwie Chapter executives led by Anthony Ofoni, charging them to work towards delivering overwhelming support for both Tinubu and Oborevwori in 2027.
In his acceptance speech, Ofoni pledged an inclusive and results-driven leadership, assuring that his team would mobilise support across all wards in Uvwie to ensure electoral victory for the President and the Governor.
The ceremony attracted key political stakeholders, including Efe Uko, Kingsley Esiso, Edafe Emakpor, James Augoye, Perkins Umukoro, and Evelyn Oboro, alongside youth groups and other political stakeholders.
