ABUJA — Thousands of residents, youths, community leaders and supporters of President Bola Tinubu on Thursday took part in a unity and peace rally organised by the Relax Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN) movement across Lugbe and Kuje Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
The rally, which featured a roadshow through major streets in the two area councils, was aimed at promoting voter awareness and participation ahead of the 2027 general elections, while showcasing the achievements of the Tinubu administration under its Renewed Hope Agenda.
Organisers said the event attracted a large turnout of participants, including traditional and community leaders, youth groups, political stakeholders and government officials.
Among dignitaries present was the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Muhammed Abdullah, alongside national executives of the RTIFN movement.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of empowerment packages to women and youth entrepreneurs. The organisers said selected beneficiaries received startup kits and financial grants to support their businesses and improve economic self-reliance.
Some beneficiaries and market women who spoke at the event commended the initiative and expressed support for the Tinubu administration, citing ongoing infrastructure projects and other government interventions in their communities.
Speaking during the rally, Director-General of the RTIFN movement, Hon. Ahmed Bala, thanked residents for their peaceful conduct and continued support for the Federal Government.
According to him, the economic and structural reforms being implemented by President Tinubu are designed to place the country on a sustainable path of growth and development.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient, noting that the policies were beginning to produce positive results.
“Leadership requires courage, and President Tinubu has demonstrated that courage. We appeal to Nigerians to remain patient. These policies are not designed as quick fixes but as long-term solutions that will strengthen the nation’s economy and create sustainable development,” Bala said.
He also called on citizens to participate actively in the democratic process and safeguard their votes as the country prepares for the 2027 polls.
The rally featured cultural displays and musical performances by entertainers, including Basketmouth, Zule Zoo, Ekwe, Joel and Samegeezy, as well as several emerging local artistes.
Organisers said the entertainment segment was incorporated to promote peaceful coexistence and complement the voter education campaign.
The event comes as political parties and support groups continue to intensify grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
