A presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress,APC,.Olorogun Charles Obada has lauded the leadership of the party in Ughelli North for the successful conduct of the wards and local government Congresses.
Obada in a chat with newsmen also commended the wards in his Agbarho community for the peaceful.and orderly conduct of the party’s ward congress in the area.
Describing himself as an antidote to the challenges bedeviling the nation when elected president of the country Obada said he was in the race to provide enduring solutions to the nation’s problems.
“I especially thank our sister Hon. Stella Okotete, the Executive Director, Business Development of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank,
I also wish to sincerely commend our party faithful, leaders, elders, women, youths, and all stakeholders for the peaceful, transparent, and successful conduct of our recent congresses from the ward to the local government level. The level of unity, discipline, and commitment displayed by members is a clear testimony to the strength of our party at the grassroots and our collective resolve to deepen internal democracy.
“Beyond this, it is important to emphasize that the office of the President is zoned to the South. This is not merely a political arrangement; it is a moral and constitutional necessity for equity, balance, and national cohesion. The time has come for a formidable, credible, and visionary Southern candidate to step forward and replace the current President—a leader who understands the pains of the people and possesses the courage to confront the nation’s challenges head-on.
“My vision is clear: to recalibrate our nation. We must deliberately bridge the ever-widening gap between the rich and the poor. A nation cannot prosper when prosperity is reserved for a few while the majority struggle for survival. Governance must be people-centered, inclusive, and compassionate, with policies that uplift the vulnerable, empower the productive, and restore dignity to the ordinary citizen.
“One of the major pillars of this vision is the infusion of youthful drive into governance. Nigeria is a young nation, and its energy, creativity, and innovation must be reflected in leadership. At the same time, we must respect the wisdom and experience of our elders. I see myself as a bridge between the youths and the elderly, a leader who understands the aspirations of the young while valuing the counsel of the old. This balance is critical for sustainable development and national stability.
“Together, with unity of purpose, discipline, and faith in our collective strength, we will not only win elections but also build a nation that works for all. The journey ahead is demanding, but the destination is clear: victory, progress, and a renewed and prosperous Nigeria for every Nigerian “, he said.
Fielding questions on the amended electoral Act he said he was not bothered by fears raised by some Nigerians over it.
“Let me state clearly that I am indifferent to any provisions of the Electoral Act that are meant to distract or intimidate us. When you are certain of victory, no legal technicality or procedural adjustment can shake your confidence. I am definitely and absolutely sure of victory. That confidence is rooted not in arrogance, but in the overwhelming support of the people, the strength of our structure, and the justice of our cause.
“Similarly, we are not bothered by any shift or adjustment in the election calendar. Elections may be postponed, dates may change, but the will of the people remains constant. Victory is assured, because our movement is driven by conviction, credibility, and clarity of purpose. No delay can diminish our momentum or weaken our determination”, he said.
Obada said he would soon send a letter to the national chairman of the APC, expressing his interest in contesting the next presidential primaries of the party.
