Election tribunal: Ekwunife opens defence

Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, who was declared winner of the March 28, 2015 senatorial election in Anambra Central senatorial district against former national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, opened her defence, yesterday, when the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Awka resumed hearing in the case filed by Umeh and APGA against Ekwunife and 10 other respondents. Ekwunife, yesterday tendered forms EC8A1, being polling unit results in about 67 polling units.

Labour condemns protest against NPA

Labour directs workers to shut power supply to Rivers, others

THE leadership of the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, has directed workers to shut down power supply to four states of Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom, from today over alleged unfair labour practice especially, the sack and reduction of salaries of workers perceived as union activists by the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHEDC.

Egbin power output increases to 1,100MW

With these developments, Egbin Power is now equipped to generate power at its installed 1,320MW capacity, whilst the company is exploring expansion in power generation in a few years to 2670MW and possibly 10000MW in the next decade, if gas supply, transmission expansion and demand permits.
