Architects root for urban mass housing to reduce shortfall

Worried by Nigeria’s huge housing deficit, which UN statistics put at between 16 -17 million units, Lagos-based Architects have called for the construction of mass housing in the urban centres to bridge the huge gap which requires the construction of 720,000 housing units per annum in the next 10 years.

Mortgage bank disburses N1.36bn housing loan in Kano

A Kano State-owned mortgage bank, the Dala Building Society, says it has disbursed N1.36 billion housing loans to no fewer than 2, 400 civil servants in the state. The Acting Managing Director of the bank, Alhaji Abdulnasser Abdu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Saturday that N480 million were disbursed 2,000 workers from May 2011 to date.

SERAP urges CJN to probe abandoned FG projects
