The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene decisively in the lingering political crisis in Rivers State, warning that continued instability in the oil-rich region could have far-reaching consequences for national peace and economic stability.

President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate requesting the screening and confirmation of several key appointments, including Professor Melvin D. Ayogu as a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS), and four nominees as Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu is currently breaking fast with the Rivers State governor, Sim Fubara, his estranged godfather and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, other governors, Ministers and heads of ministries, departments and agencies at the presidential Villa, Abuja.

Civil Society Organizations on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative, CSCHEI has told all the political appointees of President Bola Tinubu to make quality education, reduction of inequality in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, a priority.

“Tinubu, who ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won three of the nation’s six zones, North-West, South-West and North-Central of which he got his highest votes in North-West.”
