Tinubu hails Adegbulugbe on 70th birthday

Abuja — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Professor Anthony Adegbulugbe, Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State, on his 70th birthday, lauding his contributions to academia, evangelism, business, and philanthropy.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Professor Adegbulugbe’s outstanding achievements and unwavering dedication to excellence.

Reflecting on their shared experiences, President Tinubu recalled receiving an honorary doctorate alongside Professor Adegbulugbe in October 2019 at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, where they were honored alongside the Sultan of Sokoto, His Majesty Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe.

“Standing beside such a distinguished intellectual, known for his dedication and humility, was truly an honour,” Tinubu remarked.

The President also highlighted Professor Adegbulugbe’s remarkable academic journey, noting that he graduated with a First-Class degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1976, achieving a perfect Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0—an extraordinary feat that set him apart early in his career.

President Tinubu expressed confidence in Adegbulugbe’s continued contributions to national development and extended warm wishes to him and his wife, Princess Afolake Adegbulugbe, for many more years of good health and abundant blessings.
