SubscribeBATTLE FOR ONDO Buhari storms Akure; Tinubu, Akande, three S/West govs stay away
The battle for Alagbaka Government House, Akure, intensified yesterday, after President Muhammadu Buhari stormed the Ondo State capital to campaign for the candidate of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Rotimi Akeredolu, in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Encounter: ‘Tinubu was badly advised against me’ – Oyegun
IT was on a cool evening that I met with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, at his Abuja residence, last weekend. It was certainly not my first meeting with him, as I knew Odigie-Oyegun since 1991 when he emerged as the first civilian governor of Edo state.
Tinubu, Buhari: Meeting of minds
The weekend meeting of allies of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari may be the tonic needed to repair the alliance that shot the ruling party to power.
Oh APC! The unravelling of a ruling party?? The Tinubu, Oyegun battle
Whereas the All Progressives Congress, APC, derisively described as Armoured Personnel Carrier when it was launched in 2013, may be about to turn the gun barrel on itself with the multi-pronged crisis that has hit the ruling party, Nigerians are still watching and waiting. Most of what is happening in the party today was predicted long ago. The reason for the possible impending implosion of the APC – except wise counsel prevails – can be located in the inexplicable, yet manifest serial folly, grounded in self-centredness, of the average Nigerian politician. From the high wire politicking that greeted the emergence of the leadership of Nigeria’s Senate and House of Representatives, to the skewed appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari, while not leaving out the visceral scheming by some mentees against their mentors, it was only a matter of when, and not if, there would be a shift in the tectonic plates that serve as the core of the APC.
Tinubu’s letter reckless, baseless —Oyegun
THE National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress,APC, Chief Odigie Oyegun has responded to a letter written to him by the party’s National Leader, Bola Tinubu, saying the issues raised were reckless and false.
