Teachers in Primary and Junior Secondary Schools across the county are to undergo training on Special Needs and Disabilities, SEND skills with a view to strengthening their competencies to effectively manage social, behavioural, physical, and intellectual disabilities and challenges in pupils.

SENATOR Ben Ayade, the Cross River State governor on Monday asserted that effective teaching at the basic education level is  critical  to the development of Nigeria and this can only be achieved through effective training of teachers.

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command, on Tuesday, arrested four students of Community High School, Ijoun in Yewa North Local Government area of the state for conspiring together with other to unleash mayhem on their teachers on Monday.

Through this teacher capacity-building workshop, 300 high school teachers from Lagos, Rivers and Enugu states will acquire skills in effective virtual classroom pedagogy, best practices in curriculum development, lesson planning, and innovative 21st century student-centered teaching methods.  

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says efforts are underway to increase the retirement age of teachers in Nigeria’s public service from 60 years to 65 years.
