SubscribePAAR: Customs boss order Commands to set up dispute resolution committee
FOLLOWING dispute between Customs clearing agents and officials of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, over the figures in Pre-Arrival Assessment Report, PAAR, issued by the Customs, the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ali (retd), has directed all commands to set up a Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC).
FOU Owerri seizes 17 items, arrests 18 suspects
In a bid to stem the tide of smuggling contraband goods into the country, the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘C’, Owerri of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted 17 prohibited items with 21 underpayments recovery of N194.6million in January. 2017.
Vehicles still smuggled through land borders — CUSTOMS
The Zonal Coordinator Zone ‘A’ of the Nigeria Customs Service, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, Monday Abueh, has warned that there was no going back on the ban of vehicles through land borders, even as he confirmed that some die-hard smugglers last week attempted to smuggle in some of the vehicles currently trapped at Cotonou.
661 rifles: Customs admits arms container was not examined
The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has admitted that the container carrying 661 pump-action rifles by the Federal Operations Unit, FOU, A, Ikeja of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, in Lagos last week was smuggled out of the ports without proper clearing process.
