ON the back page of THISDAY Newspapers of Friday June 8, 2012, Nasir El-Rufai in a piece entitled “Anambra’s Budget of Misplaced Priorities” displayed what was in fact a misplaced aggression against Anambra State – her Governor, Mr. Peter Obi and her people.

I read President Goodluck Jonathan’s speech on Democracy Day in the Vanguard Newspaper Online and I felt so disappointed. PERHAPS, if he had caved in to pressure piled on him by many stakeholders in Edo politics to throw his hat in the ring for the governorship seat, multi-billionaire businessman-cum- politician, Captain Idahosa Wells Okunbo, would have by now been traversing the nooks and crannies of the state, mounting the soap box to articulate his promises to the people. Such is the theatrics that have been going on in Edo State in the name of electioneering.
