EARLY last year, in the run-up to the 2015 general elections, this writer argued in two newspaper articles that Nigerians should vote for then presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari and against Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and the then-ruling PDP. I pointed to the massive systemic corruption in the Jonathan government and how this was seriously impeding economic growth and miring the hapless citizens in poverty.

The Niger Delta boils; the Niger Delta boils because the Niger Delta Avengers, stuck to a new development ideology of their own creation, opposed to Tompolo’s revolutionary philosophy, has made the destruction of oil installations and facilities in Nigeria their pastime.

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari broadcast to the nation on May 29th 2016; a day dedicated to the celebration of democracy in Nigeria, once again brought to the front burner the question of where Mr President’s loyalty lies between the Nigerian Nation and the dreaded Fulani Herdsmen terrorising the whole country.

No doubt, the June 12, 1993, mandate freely and willingly given to the late icon of democracy and philanthropist, Chief MKO Abiola, by Nigerians but unfortunately annulled by the military junta led by Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has come to be an integral part of our democratic life as a nation.
