When the gains of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration are counted, the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy will make the list. Before the policy, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) operated thousands of questionable and poorly monitored bank accounts. This bred systemic corruption, compromised revenue remittances and deposit dormancy.

The gloves are off, folks. With about 73 days to the U.S. presidential elections, Donald Trump is trying to do to Hillary Clinton what he successfully did to Jeb. During the GOP Primaries, he repeatedly mocked Jeb Bush as a man with “low energy.” Bush played the gentleman and didn’t hit Trump back. By the time he woke up, the race was over – neither the Bush dynasty nor his millions of campaign funds could revive his campaign.

Delta state is today celebrating her 25th year anniversary. Created on the 27th of August, 1991, with its capital located in Asaba, the state had as her first Military Administrator, Group Captain Luke Chijoba Ochulor. The creation of the state by former Military President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida was however greeted with mixed feelings as the various ethnic groups that made up the state were divided. While the Urhobos, Ijaws, Isokos and Itsekiris felt that they were given a state without a capital, the Ndokwas, Ikas and Aniocha/Oshimilis argued that they were given a state capital without a state.

Let me begin by paying tribute to my predecessors in office who piloted the affairs of the state before the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP)administration was inaugurated on May 29, 1999. From Air Commodore Luke Chijiuba Ochulor (rtd) who was the pioneer Administrator on creation in 1991 to the first elected Governor, Olorogun Felix Ibru, after the demise of the civilian administration, Abdulkadir Shehu, Bassey Asuquo, Ibrahim Kefas, John Dungs and to Walter Feghabo who supervised the conduct of the election in 1999, and eventually handed over to me as Governor.

Celebration of compositions, colours, designs and formations to stun! No form of human activity appears to have been formed to arrest, entertain and motivate better than calisthenics. That is what the skyline of Osun, South-West Nigeria promises to be resplendent with as the State of the Virtuous marks its 25th anniversary on Saturday 27th, August 2016.
