IN the next few days the territory of Nigeria which President Goodluck Jonathan swore as Commander-in-Chief to defend may shrink by several hundreds of square kilometres; almost the equivalent of a state. And this is vital territory in the oil-rich Bakassi region of the Gulf of Guinea.

THE secondary schools which were mainly mission, community and private were now denied the great capital and recurrent funds and the very significant unpaid man-power inputs which used to flow into the system from the missions and voluntary agencies.

ALADINMA’S proclamation,Daily Sun, Thursday, June 21, 2012 made interesting reading. We note and appreciate Aladinma’s burning desire to establish or nurture cordial relationships between Ndigbo and the South-South peoples of Nigeria. But we do think that such cordiality should not be founded on falsehood, outright misrepresentation and misinterpretation of history.

THE simmering dispute between Cross River and Akwa Ibom states over oil wells has become even more Interesting with a fraudulent map being circulated by the National Boundary Commission (NBC). This map in effect cedes to Cameroon and other nations, part of the estuarine territory of Cross River State.

PHILOSOPHY is good because it awakens in man the need for critical thinking. However, if what Emenuaga was trying to say is that Obi as a philosopher should have performed better, he is wrong. I challenge him to tell us one governor who is doing better than him with the available resources? There is no sector in which Obi has not done better than his predecessors.
