THE legislative list exclusive to the Federal Government in the 1999 Constitution is intolerably skewed in favour of the Federal Government. Nigeria is clearly a federal environment with three major ethnic groups, each with over 30 million people, populations that are singly more than half of countries of the world.

Against the backdrop of the low level development of the nation and attendant problems, not a few Nigerians have condemned the situation. In fact, renowned preacher, Pastor Tunde Bakare, in the heat of the nationwide strike and protest over the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government on January 1, this year, described Nigeria as hell on earth.

The then Bendel State where I had my secondary school education in the seventies as an indigene, was the best in almost all the National Sports competitions held in the country at that time.

This, before some one starts to say ‘not again’, is not about me. Its about my egbon. UNLIKE what were contained in the article written by Odimegwu Onwumere titled ‘Why T.A Orji will not thank God’ which was published on Page 18 of The Sun newspaper of August 6, 2012, I strongly believe that Governor Orji, his family and the people of Abia State have every reason to be always thankful to God for His infinite mercy, protection and guidance, especially with their liberation from the clutches of political godfatherism.

LET me state at the very onset that the good people of Ogun State would rather have their government focus on development than be burdened by the current tide of bad blood between the present government under Senator Ibikunle Amosun and that of former governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel. The state deserves better.

THERE is no doubt that Dr. Paul Botwev Orhii means well for the Nigeria nation in the area of food and drug administration and control.
