Wednesday, April 18, 2018 was my saddest day of 2018 so far. My privilege as a Nigerian was breached when President Buhari, who should be the main marketer and chief diplomat of Nigeria and Nigerians, took time out if his not very busy schedule to de-market Nigeria before elite world business and political leaders at the ongoing Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London.

A lot has been said in recent times as regards the activities of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).  Some who might be somewhat ignorant of the activities of NEMA, it is more like a rapid response agency meant to mitigate the effects of national disasters like flooding, humanitarian crisis and other disaster situations in the country.

Everyday I see Malema shouting on television I admire his energy and convictions. Everyday I hear him talk about the EFF and the vision or democratized economic  prosperity I chuckle with pride.

The famed agricultural successes of the First Republic, symbolized by the groundnut pyramids in the north and the cocoa and palm plantations in the west and east were achieved on the back of robust policies and effective agricultural extension systems. But this second factor has not been given adequate emphasis in recent efforts to rejuvenate the sector.

Customarily, the atmosphere is adequately charged in anticipation of the 2019 general elections. The heat in the polity has intensified and hit many politicians in Nigeria very badly, with supersonic fever of expected defeat at the ballot.
