This is a short message to the people of Ekiti State. To begin with, I want to express my utmost gratitude to all of you for your support and prayers since the unfortunate incident of Friday, 1st of June 2018 when I suffered multiple gunshot injuries.

WHEN he ran to be Nigeria’s president for the fourth time in 2014, Muhammadu Buhari pleaded that he was a converted democrat. Since Nigerians granted him his wish in 2015, he appears to have found it difficult either to show off the new livery of a converted democrat or to shake off his old habits as a humorless dictator. In his Presidential Executive Order, PEO, No. 6 of 2018, President Buhari buries any illusions as to his preference.

MY remarks today will be primarily directed at the younger members of the society who may not quite understand the root causes of what is happening in Nigeria today or the on-goingsenseless massacre of Nigerian citizens in Central Nigeria. Consequently, they may also not appreciate the stand that should be taken to address the Nigerian condition today. I say this because those who do not know how and where a problem started may never figure how to deal with or contain that problem. But first,let us look at the background to the crisis eating up the country.

“It is not good enough to say that you are leaving Buhari simply because he came after you. You stood with him when he  detained, insulted, framed up, disgraced, demonised, humiliated and lied about others for 3 years and you cheered him on. You failed to appreciate that those who ride on the back of a tiger always end up in its stomach.

The fight against insurgency in Nigeria precedes this present administration. The level of destructions experienced regarding physical and emotional impacts are unquantifiable.
