The fact that American economy is skyrocketing beyond every prediction is putting everybody in check because nobody wants to get on the wrong side of a country with a 19 trillion dollar economy

WITH great disappointment and distaste, I read the above-titled piece supposedly written by one Abdullahi Haruna. It was indeed like a tour of a lunatic asylum. What are his contentions? It was clearly sponsored by those who are dismayed that the Vice-Presidential candidate of the PDP, Mr. Peter Obi has no common fault that are observed among many Nigerian politicians and in desperation concoct tales, which defy all logic.

In the Nigerian Presidency’s statement defending itself against allegations of dishonesty and a false anti-corruption war levelled against it by former United Kingdom Secretary for International Development, Ms. Priti Patel, Nigerian President Buhari’s spokesman claimed Ms. Patel’s allegations are false because the Buhari administration introduced the Treasury Single Account, TSA, Bank Verification Number, BVN, and the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS. 

IN  the battleground of politics, Africa  has a short list of successful strong men and considering the evolving political climate in Cameroon, President Paul Biya may against all odds make the list. If successful, President Biya will join the gargoyles of Hastings Banda and Umar Bongo now of unblessed memory and José Eduardo dos Santos who recently announced his retirement.  If unsuccessful, he will join Robert Mugabe, Yayah Jammeh, Blaise Campaore,  Abdoulaye Wade, Hosin Mumbrack, etc who are still nursing the regret of being forced out of power.

“There was no bitterness in him after he left power. He did not look back. He did not look down. Instead he looked up and after looking up, he looked forward and went on pressing ahead.
