Hate Speech

Sometime in July last year, the Department of State Services hosted a national seminar on unity in diversity, security and development in Abuja. In his address to the participants, the vice-president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, raised an issue that was not then playing in the public space, namely, hate speech. He warned that “hate speech precedes genocide, the greatest tragedy in human history.”

RECENTLY, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola became the former Governor of Osun State; he completed his eventful and impactful two terms in office. He left office before November 27 in a blaze of glory and glowing legacies that would be hard to match though we pray that his successor in office would be able to perform as much as he did. 

Addressing housing crisis, deficit in Abuja

HOUSING crisis is a huge issue for the poor and the working people in Abuja with more than half of the population living in precarious houses.  We have 1.7 million housing deficit. Given the fact that it is both fundamental and constitutional requirement, the Nigerian government had formulated a National Housing Policy in 1991 to ease the provision of adequate, accessible and low-cost housing for the poor and the working people.
