Saturday November 16, was another historic day in the lives of the people of Edo State. It was a day the state successfully transited from one elected Governor to another after eight years of an administration.

WHAT makes history so unforgiving is that those who forget its lessons are often brutally reminded of their idiocy, by experiencing the misfortunes that bedevilled their forebears. While the correlation between the plight of Nigeria’s pensioners and the country’s stunted growth may not be easily perceptible, nothing suggests that a country that permits the scale of humiliation and injustice to which retired workers are exposed

Nation-building is a work for men and not for boys. The reason is simple: only transformed men transform a nation.

Even with the signing of the Nigerian Oil and Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act of 2010, many Nigerian investors still exploit the old loopholes in the system to take advantage of this law.

IN the colonial era, it was normal to see Whites brutalising and oppressing Blacks as aptly epitomised by the atrocious trans-Atlantic slave trade and other similar obnoxious acts. Although colonialism has effectively ended in Africa, the chilling news from the Rainbow nation simply shows that the equation has changed. In South Africa, Whites no longer brutalise Blacks. Rather, it is Blacks that are maiming Blacks. How sad! Brothers are now killing brothers.
