Nigeria’s art community and indeed, Africa, were thrown into mourning when the nation’s first Photographer and one of Africa’s most prominent photographers, JD ‘Okhai Ojeikere, was announced dead on Sunday in Lagos, after a brief illness.

PREPARATIONS have been concluded for the 3rd edition of “Vision of the Child” which is being organised by the Lagos Black Heritage Festival (LBHF) in collaboration with Lagos State Ministry of Education.

Syl Cheney-Coker is one of Sierra Leone’s most renowned poets, novelist, and journalist who has a global sense of literary history. Educated at the Universities of Oregon and Wisconsin, and a former visiting writer at the International Writing Programme at the University of Iowa, he has through his write ups, introduced styles and techniques from French and Latin American literature to Sierra Leone.
