Journalists get free attendance for ICT training
Organizers of Information Secu
rity Training Summit known as Infosecurityuk 2010, said it is offering Nigerian journalists, particularly IT reporters free attendance to the training conference on ‘Data Loss Prevention & Information Security Best Practices’, scheduled to hold from October 18_20, 2010 at the Copthorne Hotel, Slough Berkshire, United Kingdom.
According to the head, Infosecurityuk 2010 Team, Cleopatra Harry, the registration fee for the summit was £1,200 for each attendee but was offered free to Nigerian Journalists to enable them learn how to report more effectively on information security related issues that was currently hot on global agenda.
“We want you to take advantage of this opportunity to increase your knowledge of information security and be relevant to the next technology revolution”, she said adding that the event would provide platform to network with global information security experts coming from other parts of the world.
She assured that Nigerian journalists would be educated on the latest information security threats, risks, vulnerabilities and compliance issues, stating that the conference has gathered some of the world’s foremost security experts with Mr. Winn Schwartau delivering the keynote topic.
However, the offer did not cover return ticket and hotel accommodation. Interested journalists are requested to confirm their interest with full names and media organizations with the organisers.
Meanwhile, the InfoSecurityuk 2010 team has announced the keynote topic for the summit – “The Future of InfoSec” to be delivered by Winn Schwartau, Chairman MobileActiveDefence. Winn was voted in 2008 as one of the 25 Most Influential People in the Security Industry by Security Magazine. He is known to be one of the Top 5 Thinkers in Information Security Worldwide. He has authored over 20 books on the subject and would be doing on site book signings with free copies being given away to all delegates.
Other topics to be discussed include Corporate Vigilantism: Right, Wrong or Necessary? What are the impacts on business and productivity? When law enforcement won’t respond to or investigate cyber_attacks, what should we do? Take the law into our own hands? How do con_focal vulnerabilities affect corporate, national and global economic security? The Ultimate and safest means to protect networks in worse case scenarios, among others.
