Federation Cup Champions, Heartland FC arrived to a massive welcome in Owerri after their triumph over Lobi at the Federation Cup match played in Lagos on Sunday. They beat Lobi 2-1 to retain the trophy.

Twelve hours after lifting the Federation Cup, players and officials of Heartland Football Club of Owerri left Lagos by road for a long trip to Owerri, the capital of Imo State. And this did not go down well with the Federation Cup champions who have won the trophy back-to-back.

Coach Ndubuisi Nduka who led Heartland of Owerri to a successful defence of the Federation Cup they won last year, has promised a more improved squad that will give the country a credible representation in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
