It has been a season of explosions in Rivers State. The most recent cases were the ones recorded in the early hours of Monday at Ahoada High Court in Ahoada East local government area and the one at Okehi High Court in Etche local government area.

Over the years, the population boom in Lagos, the commercial nerve centre of the country has put undue pressure on government and individuals as the demand for housing continued to rise far and above what the urbanised areas can offer. After spending most of the day dancing round the carnival routes in Calabar at the weekend with band members, Governor of Cross Rivers State, Senator Liyel Imoke, did not show sign of fatigue as he took time out at about 2 am to chat with journalists on the Calabar Festival.
He shared the vision of his administration for tourism, adding that he has come to terms with the fact the state cannot possibly survive depending on oil revenues.
