SubscribeRamadan Talk: You can change your destiny tonight
No doubt, the Lailatul Qadr is one of the blessings Allah has blessed mankind with that sustains the entire universe. We cannot overstate the importance of the night in that it is one of such blessings that is incomparable and has no equal either before the advent of Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) or after. It is like an honour on the believers of the last message.
Lailatul Qadr, a night of possibilities
The atmosphere now is all about Lailatul Qadr and how we can all get the best out of the night. How have you spent the last three nights? Has it been fruitful, spiritually exciting and physically rewarding or have you wasted the time unknowingly? How do you intend to spend the next seven nights? Despite planning beforehand, many of us may have got caught up in a normal routine after iftar, and so, we missed the opportunity of spending the night in prayers.
Don’t let your sins hold you back
The time does not only offer reasons to reflect on all areas of our lives, it also offers opportunity for changes. It is time to connect with Allah, feel His presence and tap His blessings. With the Laylatul Qadr, we have the opportunity to be cleansed of our sins. A man is deprived of provision because of the sins that he commits.’” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 4022)
The final run
Do you realise that there are few more days to go in Ramadan. How fast the days of the month have gone? They are already counting the last ten nights and very soon Ramadan will be over.
Time for spiritual seclusion
At this point of the holy month, when the last 10 days are rolling in, every Muslim should deepen himself in the acts of ibadaah. The most important part of Ramadan is said to be the last 10 days. The revelation of the Qur’an, the night of majesty, the blessings, among others, had been perfected in it.
Ramadan 16: Making your fast count
Allah has assigned to us the season of goodness in which the rewards for good deeds are not only in multiple folds but also the bad deeds are bloated out. In it, there are opportunities for repentance and forgiveness.
RAMADAN 15: Charity reduces nothing from wealth
With the pangs of hunger and thirst we have felt so far since the beginning of the month, we can now appreciate the suffering of the poor who couldn’t afford one meal a day.
Leading Muslim fashion designer jailed for 18 years over fraud
An Indonesian fashion designer who shot to global fame with her Muslim-themed collection was sentenced to 18 years in prison Wednesday for a multi-million dollar fraud and money-laundering.
Meeting your goals this Ramadan
As Ramadan slides to its half tomorrow, it is time for self appraisal. It is time to look at areas you have not done very well in your ibadaat. Have you met your target in your recitation of the Holy Quran and how much of the messages of the Holy Book have you internalised?
Expand the scope of your good deeds
In another couple of weeks, this glorious month will be bidding farewell to all of us. Some are even surprised how 12 days have taken flight out of the 29 or 30 days. Certainly, the rest of the days will come and go all the same. What is important is to maximise every minute of the day to widen the scope of your good deeds. Do more meritorious and more rewarding acts and land yourself with abundant rewards.
Day 27: Time for self re-appraisal, repentance
Twenty seven days gone now in the month of Ramadan!
Day 24: Between Zakah and Sadaqah
Zakah and Sadaqah are forms of charity given by Muslims. While Zakah is obligatory, Sadaqah is voluntary. Zakah, which is one of the five pillars of Islam, is to be given by all Muslims.
Day 23: Night prayers, Tahjud, in congregation
Qiyaamu-lail and Tahjud can be used interchangeably, but with slight difference. The difference is implied only in when it is done. However, the similarity is that both are prayers and acts of worship done in the night. The former is more general than the latter, because it includes prayer and other actions and it includes prayer before and after sleeping.
Day 22: Feel the plight of the poor
Having gone this far in this month of Ramadan, one will understand what it takes to go without food, and empathise with those who couldn’t afford three square meals a day.
Day 21: Night of Majesty: A marvelous gift to mankind
The significance of the Night of Majesty, or Laylatul-Qadr, cannot be over-emphasised. Despite our knowledge about the glorious night and its importance, preparation towards it has not shown enough awareness and consciousness about its gains. We seem not to be ready to explore the benefits therein.
