It was another successful outing for the National Gallery of Art as the second Kaduna Art Fair came to an end. The fair which is the second in the series featured a collection of 60 works of 42 artists out of over 100 artists working in the National Gallery of Art (NGA).

To many, despite the inherent potentials in art and the money garnered at different art auctions in the country and beyond, many do not still see it as an alternative investment. What is then the position of art in the area of investment, apart from its aesthetic value, can it be used as an alternative?

The monumental assembly was convened at the National Theatre by the newly appointed Artistic Director of the National Troupe of Nigeria – Mr. Akin Adejuwon. It was an overwhelming success and well attended by many surviving practitioners, the likes of His Royal Highness Oba Sonuga, Peter Badejo MBE all the way from London, professors and practitioners of the performing arts, old and young.

Contestants for this year’s edition of The Miss Niger Delta Peace cultural Pageant themed, One Voice For Peace, Empowerment and Transformation, are expected to converge at Berverly Hills Hotel, Mingles Lounge, GRA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

It took the simple cue; “Ladies and gentlemen, let the show begin” from the sonorous and inviting voice of culture activist, film critic, playwright and theatre director, Ben Tomoloju, for the Agip Recital Hall of Muson Centre Lagos, to come alive with a spellbinding theatrical performance of “The Rebirth”.
