The Nigeria Industrial Relations Association ( NIRA) is to host the 6th African Regional Congress of Industrial Relations in Lagos , January 24- 28, 2011. The International Industrial Relations Association based in Geneva, confirmed Nigeria’s hosting in Geneva.

COMRADE Achese Igwe, was recently elected President of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), succeeding Comrade Peter Akpatason who led the union for eight years. In this interview with Labour Vanguard, the new President, gives an insight into his trade union’s career and the menace of contract staffing in the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), where he said NUPENG presently does not have members.
