The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Thursday, presented its first witness in a case of N5.8 million recruitment scam involving one Uju Okoye before Justice Ogbonnaya of FCT High Court sitting in Kubwa, Abuja.

The trial of alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike a.k.a Evans and three others on fresh kidnapping charges was stalled on Thursday at an Ikeja High Court.

A 37-year-old man, Ifeanyi Stanley, who was the gang leader of a notorious kidnap gang terrorizing Isiala-Ngwa and Aba areas of Abia State, and masterminded the recent kidnapping of Unit Commander at the Mopol 52 Squadron Command in Aba, has been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Response Team, IRT.        Stanley and four other members of his gang who were armed with an AK-47 rifle and a locally made gun abducted the Unit Commander in his Toyota Highlander SUV at a spot on Akalana area of Aba. He was dispossessed of his service pistol and taken into captivity, but was released after a ransom of N450,000 was paid to his abductors.
