Provision is made to accommodate and recognise younger artistes in the Fuji, Juju, Afro, Hip Hop and Gospel genres of music by giving out awards for an ‘Artistes of the Year’ in each genre. Apart from songs which will be rendered in tribute by the A-list new school artistes to amuse and celebrate the older ones, special appearance will be made by international songbird, Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

Organisers of the urbane music award in Nigeria, Smooth Productions, have disclosed that this year’s nominees party will take place in three cities across the country.

Some are even getting sponsorship from Ghanaian executive producers and marketers. I think we must blame our producers and directors who, in my view, have sold their birthrights to the Ghanaian marketers. Otherwise, there shouldn’t have been any basis for comparison between our actors and the Ghanaians’.
