The life and times of Geraldo Pino Born Gerald Emeka Pine in Enugu, present day Enugu State, on 1st February 1934 to a lawyer father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Pine, both from Sierra Leone. He had his primary school education at St. Patrick’s Primary School, Coal Camp, Enugu, attended Prince Forbes College and Prince of Wales School, Sierra Leone for his secondary education. He later attended University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he read English Language.

As the Americans would say, it was too close to call as last two remaining heroes Melvin and Uche matched each other strength for strength and wit for wits. Unlike in the last five seasons where the first hero who got to where the treasure was hidden never found it, this time, both took off and arrived the location almost the same time and began searching.

Where are the likes of Eucharia Anuobi, Ngozi Ezeonu, Ngozi Nwaosu, Liz Benson and a host of other well tasted actresses? Why are Nigerians not asking questions in respect of the whereabouts of these missing faces on our screen. Are we talking about the abandoned actresses alone? What about the actors? Where are they? Let’s call a spade a spade.

These things are gifts and talents and you don’t buy them. If you don’t have them, you don’t. That’s why I also like the courage of those that can’t write and admit that they can’t and so they always walk around people that they know can. And it works for them.

Speaking ahead of the festival last Friday, Mrs. Biodun Ibitola, Managing Director, Remdel Optimum Communications said this year’s programme, with the theme, “Impact and Survival of African Indigenous language in films” has been further repackaged to assume the status and trappings of a full film festival.
