Frills and thrills of Star Trek in Calabar … As Abakaliki rocks tonight

The inaugural leg of this year’s Star Music Trek, which took place at the Municipal Garden on Saturday May 2, 2015, continues today at Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. The Calabar leg which featured epic performances by some of the biggest names in Nigerian music such as Wande Coal, KCee, Burna Boy, Chidinma, Black Magic, Oritse Femi, Cynthia Morgan and many others has left many talking points too exciting and memorable to forget in a hurry.

‘Playing erotic roles does not make actors morally bankrupt’

Contrary to popular belief that movie stars are morally bankrupt following the erotic roles they play in movies, Nollywood star actor, Ramsey Nouh, has frowned at the notion, stressing that as professionals, actors are duty bound to interpret their roles excellently. Ramsey made this observation while speaking at the maiden edition of ‘Meet the Artiste’ forum organized by the Nollywood Studies Centre of the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos.

An evening of excellence as Christopher Kolade rewards classical musicians

It was an evening of excellence and celebration of the rare talents of five university-level students whose foray into classical music are beginning to pay them off. The event was the Musical Excellence Awards, organized by the Christopher Kolade Foundation,CKF, which aims at rewarding individual achievement, innovation, and creativity in the field of music.

AFRIFF 2015 gets underway

The Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), has commenced with activities for her fifth edition holding between the 8th and 15th of November,with the announcement of her call for entry. Speaking from London via video conferencing with journalists in Lagos, Keith Shiri, Artistic Director for AFRIFF explained, that only films produced after January 1, 2014 and are yet to be officially screened to an African or Global audience will be eligible to compete in the five categories that AFRIFF champions.
