Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers have expressed apprehension about alleged unwarranted attack on the sitting Governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose , just as it appealed to the Police to refrain from further harassment, intimidation and brutality of innocent citizens of the state till the end of election and beyond.

  The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), on Thursday afternoon began the distribution of sensitive materials in readiness for Saturday’s governorship election.

The Imo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Thursday claimed that the encounter between the Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, and the police, was a violation of Fayose’s human right by the Police.

A renowned blind cleric, Prophet Muideen Kasali , has warned against subverting the will of the people and that of God in Ekiti on the July 14 Governorship election, saying such may scuttle Nigeria democracy.

We have identified 299 flashpoint-polling units in the state and we are preparing for them; but before the election, some of the threat areas would have been addressed

There was palpable tension at a town hall meeting organized by Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room in Ado Ekiti, on Tuesday, as Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose had a face-off with the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Bello and the Director of the Department of State Services(DSS), Mrs Promise Ihenacho.

The business of electing rests with the people of Ekiti and I believe they are intelligent people who can compare what the situation was when we left office and the way it is now and what the future holds for our children and people
